Nura Gili Resource Centre |
|
The Resource Centre houses a specialist Indigenous collection comprising of over 20,000 items including books, posters, journals, and audiovisual material covering many areas such as Indigenous history, culture, art, native title, health, social work, education. The collection also contains core literature on race, ethnicity and Indigenous cultures world wide to support comparative study and research. |
||
| Owing to the specialised nature of the collection borrowing is not permitted. | ||
| The UNSW Library Resources Database (LRD) is the main finding aid to the collection. Journal articles in serials held in the resource centre and other UNSW libraries can be located through the Sirius database, with ATSIROM suite of databases produced by Informit Online being particularly relevant. With specialist knowledge of resources and information on Indigenous content, library staff provide a relevant and timely reference service to students, academic staff, researchers and members of the public. While a significant proportion of those who utilise the Resource Centre collection are UNSW students enrolled in Indigenous Programs, resources of the Centre have also significantly contributed to research projects not only within UNSW, but externally and internationally. | ||
| The Resource Centre is open Monday to Friday, with entry via the Commerce Courtyard on level one of the Library building. | ||
| The Resource Centre welcomes donations to its collection - please contact Nura Gili if you wish to donate material to the Centre. | ||
Please contact Chrystal Lester, Nura Gili Library Assistant (Ph: 02 9385 2336 Email: c.lester@unsw.edu.au) for more information. |
