Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Admissions Scheme UNSW (Access)

The University of New South Wales Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Admissions Scheme is run through Nura Gili Indigenous Programs in conjunction with the Universities Admission Centre (UAC). The Scheme provides an alternative access for Indigenous people into University of New South Wales degree programs. Consideration is given to a person's previous relevant experience and suitability to university studies as the key criteria for admission to courses, in addition to institutional qualifications and their application. All Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People can apply to UNSW through the Admission Scheme, and it is available for all undergraduate courses at UNSW. It is not necessary for applicants to attempt the HSC (or equivalent) in order to apply for admission under this scheme although applicants must demonstrate that they have the capacity to study at a tertiary level in the area of study to which they have applied. Entry is based on the completion of the University of New South Wales Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Admissions Scheme Form, an application with UAC and an interview held with Nura Gili and staff of the Faculty for which the applicant has a preference.
